Animal neglect is defined as negligent treatment that threatens the life and well-being of a pet. Based on interpretation, and personal standards, neglect is measured differently among witnesses. Because pets are thinking, breathing, and feeling beings, we hope that most people see them as we do … worthy of love, value, and protection.
117-pound Jaga and 85-pound Cheetara have been negligently handled. Rescued from the dog park on Memorial Parkway, these two pups were left to find their way. At, approximately, 3 years old, Jaga remains loyal and loving to his 2-year-old partner, Cheetara. Jaga’s friend, Cheetara, still looks to him daily for direction and security. Thought to be Boerbuel, a line from the Mastiff family, these are some extremely kind dogs and just want to please their handler.
It’s apparent that both of these dogs have been treated very well and we’re taken very good care of. It’s also apparent whoever left them behind, could no longer care for them or provide housing. Efforts will always need to be made to rehome an existing dog, and there are resources to network with when trying to do so. Leaving them on their own should never be a resort as abandonment is against the law. These two dogs have a great résumé when it comes to disposition, and they love people, too. They’ll just need some room as they are big babies!
